10 Who Make A Difference - Bob and Bunny Yanish

ROCHESTER, MN (KTTC-DT) -- For many years, KTTC has been recognizing those who do good in our community. We honor another of the KTTC and United Way's "10 Who Make A Difference."

Bob and Bunny Yanish have volunteered serving community meals at the Salvation Army in Rochester for over a year and a half.

Both say they've always wanted to help feed those in need, and actually started doing that through their church.

When extra funding was realized, they decided to put it to use in the community. That's how the evening community meals at the Salvation Army came about. They and a team of others spend Monday night prepping, serving, and cleaning up the meals.

Bob Yanish says, "We've helped out with the lunch meals at the Salvation Army in the past, but there was never anything at the evenings for people. So we just thought it would be nice to offer a second, evening meal, for those folks."

But this couple isn't stopping at Monday nights: they've added Friday night meals too, which have been going on for about 8 weeks now.

Bob and Bunny have gone above and beyond in the community. We are proud to call them one of our "10 Who Make a Difference".
