Daughtry to Headline National Kettle Kickoff

October 30, 2009 – Today, The Dallas Cowboys announced the Grammy-nominated band Daughtry will be the halftime performance act for their annual Thanksgiving Day Game benefitting The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign.

The press conference was held at the Cowboys training facility in Valley Ranch to a full house of reporters. The band was present to talk about their performance, and hand out signed copies of their new CD - "Leave this Town" - to some lucky children who are part of The Salvation Army's family in the Dallas Ft. Worth area. 

The Dallas Cowboys and The Salvation Army have celebrated the national kickoff of the Red Kettle campaign for the last 12 years, raising more than $1 billion for people in need during that time. The game and halftime show has become and annual Thanksgiving tradition for millions of football fans across the country. This year, the Cowboys will face the Oakland Raiders on November 26 starting at 3:15 pm CST.

Previous Red Kettle Kickoff halftime performers include: Jonas Brothers, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Sheryl Crow, Destiny’s Child, Toby Keith, LeAnn Rimes, Creed, Jessica Simpson, Billy Gillman, Clint Black, Randy Travis and Reba McEntire.

This will be the first Salvation Army halftime show held in the new $1.2 billion Cowboy Stadium.
