July 14, 2010 – A Salvation Army Disaster Services crew from Fargo, N.D. is en route to assist residents of storm-ravaged Lisbon, N.D. Strong winds caused destruction in the southeastern North Dakota city early this morning, leading to power outages and the evacuation of a local nursing home.
Four Salvation Army staff and volunteers are bringing a mobile service unit and a food trailer to provide meals and water to residents and relief workers as they begin cleaning the city. Salvation Army crews in the North Dakota cities of Bismarck and Jamestown are on standby.
