Mason City Receives Aid from Twin Cities Salvation Army

June 12, 2008 –The Salvation Army in Mason City, Iowa, received 800 clean-up kits from the Twin Cities Salvation Army last night following weekend flooding that saturated homes and crippled the city’s water treatment plant.

The kits include supplies such as rubber gloves and bleach, and are being distributed to some of the town’s 30,000 residents.

The Mason City Salvation Army has also requested that the Twin Cities chapter deploy a mobile feeding kitchen (canteen) and volunteer crew early next week.

On the heels of providing food service in Hugo, Minn. for two weeks, the Twin Cities Salvation Army and other state units are serving in flood ravaged southern Minnesota counties. They are distributing clean-up kits and are on standby for food service.

These efforts have been supported by Target, which contributed 200 bottles of bleach.

The Salvation Army is asking the public to help. To donate, please click the button below or mail a check to 2445 Prior Ave. N., Roseville, MN 55113.
