THRIFT STORES

The Salvation Army thrift stores are funded by your generous donations of material goods. The stores accept gently used merchandise to be refurbished and resold. Please see the below for lists of acceptable and unacceptable items.

Acceptable Donation Items
  • Gently used women's, men's, and children's clothing, including shoes and accessories
  • Gently used household items such as towels, sheets, curtains, throw rugs
  • All kinds of items you would find in the kitchen and bathrooms, plus nick-knacks, pictures, books, toys, games, baskets, sporting goods, tools, etc
  • Small appliances and electronics that are in good working order. Note, we do not have facilities to repair broken or non-working items.
  • Flat screen TV and computer monitors
  • Large Appliances that are clean, in good working order and less than 10 years old
  • All gently used furniture without unsightly stains, rips or odors

Unacceptable Donation Items
There are certain items the thrift stores do not accept, due to safety concerns or because they are unsellable.
  • Non-working appliances
  • Built-in appliances
  • Cabinet style record players (except antiques)
  • Computer monitors (except flat screen)
  • Car seats for infants and children
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Desks - metal or large wooden (vintage & computer desks okay)
  • Furniture that is broken, ripped, stained, etc.
  • Refrigerators not plugged in to prove they work
  • Hazardous and toxic waste
  • Household cleaners and chemicals that have been opened
  • Humidifiers
  • Magazines
  • Medical equipment and supplies
  • Organs and upright pianos *must get approval via picture sent through email)
  • CRT televisions
  • Typewriters
  • Used auto parts
  • Used mattresses and box sprints
  • Water heaters
  • Water softeners
  • Waterbeds
  • Play pens, cribs, walkers
  • Strollers, high chairs, baby gates
  • Toy basketball hoops
  • Bean bag chairs
  • Bunk beds
  • Blinds with cords
  • Encyclopedias
  • Halogen lamps
If we cannot sell an item, we have to pay for the disposal of it. Please help keep our costs down and follow these guidelines when donating your items.
